イエネコ誕生の裏には、知られざる歴史の闇が隠されていたかもしれません。
英エクセター大学（University of Exeter）の最新研究で、ネコの家畜化は約3000年前の古代エジプトの生贄の儀式がきっかけで始まった可能性が浮上したのです。
つまり、生贄に捧げるために大量のネコが必要になったため、人類が家畜化して、穏やかなネコを大量繁殖させたと新たな研究は推測しています。
研究の詳細は2025年4月22日付でプレプリントサーバー『bioRxiv』に公開されました。
